Worship On The Water
Memorial Day - Labor Day

(click above for detailed document)
On June 23 Cordele’s Worship on the Water, an outreach program of Christ Episcopal Church, was delighted to have the Right Reverend Scott Benhase as our officiating priest. This service is held on the dock at the Resort at Lake Blackshear so Bishop Benhase was celebrating with us under an open sky. Our worshippers come by boat, wave runner, kayak or car and sit either in their watercraft or on the dock in chairs provided by the church. Bishop Benhase celebrated the eucharist with us as those wishing to participate lined up on the dock to receive communion.
Father Tom Arledge, from Christ Episcopal Church in Cordele, joined us as well. He was assisted by Deacon John Lane in the baptism of CordeliaNelle Burt Wong, the grand-daughter of SuSu and Sonny Burt. Cordelia’s parents, Daphne and Craig Wong, brought her all the way from Canada for this most special occasion. After the service and baptism, everyone was invited to enjoy refreshments and fellowship served in the gazebo.

Kitchen Pantry

(click above for detailed document)
The Little Red Wagon is parked at the back of the church and
is a collection point for food that is distributed to the
needy. With more people unemployed, food pantries in the
area are facing a rising crisis in that the number of
families requiring assistance is far exceeding the amount of
food available. Everyone is encouraged to bring with
them any non-perishable items or household goods (paper
towels, toilet tissue, etc.) and leave them in the Little
Red Wagon when they visit the church.
