 Directions to the Dock
From Highway 280 East (from points west of Lake Blackshear):
Cross the Howell Cobb Bridge and take the second entrance (the main gate)
into Georgia Veteran's State Park. Follow the signs to the Resort at Lake
Blackshear. That would be the first right past the airplanes on display,
then the first left, and finally a right into the Resort parking lot. Walk
through the breezeway and amble down to the dock. We have chairs, or bring
your own.
From Highway 280 West (from points east of Lake Blackshear):
When you see the golf course, turn into the main gate of the park and follow
directions above.
From Highway 300 North (from points south of Swift Creek and
Warwick):
Cross Smoak's Bridge, and take a left onto Coney Road. Travel six miles
north until you dead-end into Highway 280. Turn left, and the Park is on
your left approximately one mile away.
By Water:
Head towards the State Park, and turn into Boy Scout Slough (that's where
the new marina sits on the point. The Resort dock is just beyond the marina,
and across from the Sportsman's Club and Boatman's Club. Pull up to the
dock.
Mapquest doesn't seem to be able to find the State Park at
this time (sigh).
